Maybe this is what this Russian dude keeps talking about when he says the US will break up in 2010. Which would mean that Chuck Norris is in bed with the Russians. Walker would be furious.

Walker, Texas President
Ahh, Chuck Norris. You brought us the supreme ridiculousity of Walker, Texas Ranger. Now you've brought us this: an offer to run for President of Texas once it secedes from the union, which is apparently going to happen "sooner than we think." I'm sorry, but did we think it was going to happen at all? Was Texas seceding on the schedule somewhere? And did Norris just call for the creation of "cells" around the country dedicated to breaking up the US?

People in Texas have told me several times, in the 7 years I've been here, that Texas has the right to secede from the Union, as negotiated in the annexation treaty with the United States. I didn't really find it credible, but never investigated until reading your post.

It turns out, Texas can calve up to four more states if it wants to, but that it cannot secede (well, not any more or less than any other state can).
For crying out loud, let them go! I'm so sick of hearing about how Texas this and Texas that from Texans. If you really, really want to leave that bad, then 'get the fudge out'! I don't want people who don't want to be Americans. 出て行け！
